Sunset Church of Christ in Springfield Missouri
Welcome to the website of Sunset Church of Christ in Springfield Missouri! Sunset Church is located at 1222 W. Sunset in Springfield, Missouri. Our worship services meet at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, with Bible classes at 9:30 a.m. We also meet on Sunday evening. Starting on December 6th, through March 14th, 2010, Sunday evening services will begin at 5:00 p.m. On Wednesday evening, we have a devotional at 7:00 p.m. followed by classes for all ages.
Our PurposeThe purpose of the church is to glorify God, to save souls and to edify each other. Worship services are meant to be a time of renewal and praise to God. If you are new to this area, looking for a Church of Christ in Springfield Missouri or are just visiting, we'd love to have you as our special guest! There are ministries and activities for people of every age. We study, pray and serve God and the community together. Come and join us!  Pulpit Minister Joe Bright Sunset is a Church Planting ChurchWe are a church planting church. Having been blessed with much growth over the past decade, a decision was made not to become a mega-church. Instead, with God's help our goal has been to plant as many new congregations in the greater Springfield area as we can.
In November of 2000 ap- proximately 75 members went out from Sunset to plant a new congregation in Nixa, MO (a suburb of Springfield). God has blessed this effort tremendously and today the Union Hill Church of Christ is a family of believers comprising over 400. In January 2006 we sent a 150-member team of church planters to Brookline, MO (a suburb to the west of Springfield). God has blessed the Brookline Church of Christ and that congregation is now up over 250.
